PGP Capital Advisors founder Stewart Kim is the son of Korean immigrants who, like a great number of their friends, came to the United States with few resources and connections. Despite these challenges, Stewart observed that these pioneers possessed a tireless work ethic and an unyielding determination to build a better life and provide more opportunities for their children. Although many immigrants from Asia, South America, and Europe and other ethnic groups can feel like outsiders, even in the land of their birth, a significant number of them have become successful entrepreneurs who have built dynamic enterprises that create jobs and fuel substantial economic expansion in the U.S., just like the earliest wave of immigrants who came to America.
Formed in 2003, PGP helps founders of emerging companies realize their and their businesses’ full economic potential by providing familiarity with institutional capital and guidance to raise growth capital or execute a sale. The team at PGP applies their professional experiences at leading global financial institutions and their deal expertise in formulating and executing transactions to this vibrant category. For over the 20 years PGP has been in existence, our firm has advised the broadest range of minority and ethnic-owned businesses, from recapitalizing the largest Black bank in the U.S. to advising a well-known Hispanic media enterprise on its sale to arranging acquisition financing of a publicly listed company for the leading Asian language radio platform in the U.S.
